From Improv Stages to Writing a Book
Meet Chris Hubbel
Hi there, I’m Chris Hubbel, and I’ve always been a storyteller from my heart. I grew up in California, spending my early years bouncing between Los Angeles and my grandfather’s chicken ranch in the mountains above Palm Springs. I learned a lot from those contrasting worlds, such as hard work.
In my teens, I worked in my family’s pool business while attending various junior colleges. But my life truly changed when I met my wife in an acting class in 1969. That was the start of an incredible 50-year partnership, with three daughters and two grandchildren along the way.
My passion for storytelling took me to the world of acting, landing a role on All My Children in the mid-70s. From there, I transitioned into screenwriting. I applied what I learned in improv to create stories for Twilight Zone, Disney, Steven Spielberg, and many others. I’ve written over 50 animated stories and was even nominated for an Emmy.
Now, I’ve taken on a new challenge with my first novel, The Sixteen Aiken’s Rifles. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m excited to share it with others.
