From California Roots to Storytelling Heights
Hi, I’m Chris HubbelI. I was born and raised in sunny California, bouncing between the busy streets of Los Angeles and the peaceful mountains above Palm Springs, where my grandfather owned a chicken ranch. Those early years taught me the value of hard work, which helped me succeed in the family pool business. From improvisational theatre to screenplay to novel writing, storytelling beckoned to me.
In the mid-70s, I landed a role on All My Children, and that was where my passion for acting truly succeeded. I met my incredible wife during an acting class, and together, we’ve built a beautiful life with three daughters and two grandchildren.
A Novel of Courage and History
An Unforgettable Story Of War, Valor, And Friendship.
The Sixteen Aiken’s Rifles is more than a historical novel—it’s a story of friendship, bravery, and the cost of war. In 1826, the U.S. Congress did something it had never done before and has never done since. They awarded commemorative rifles to sixteen boys who displayed extraordinary courage during the Battle of Plattsburgh in the War of 1812. These boys, barely men, defended their homeland in New England against the British, and two years later, they were finally honored for their bravery.
My novel takes you back to that time, following their journey from youthful inexperience to soldiers. It’s a story that reflects the strength of the human spirit in the face of overwhelming odds, and it’s one that I’m proud to share with you.
